LTFRB VS.UV EXPRESS - MY TAKE

Hoo boy!  Been away for so long.  It's a good thing the blog is still up.

Let's hear it for the LTFRB for banning UV Express from EDSA!  Congratulations!  Once again you have shown your lack of brains.  We, the riding public, pay top peso to these shuttles so we wouldn't have to switch from bus to jeep in going home.  We expect to get home EARLIER!  And what do you do?  You've made our trip LONGER!

People in LTFRB or LTO or whatever blasted agency is handling this...USE YOUR BRAINS!  These vehicles actually drive more carefully than other PUV's.  They are not the ones causing traffic in EDSA.  Look at the "chokepoints."  The vehicles causing the most trouble are the buses that don't know how to position themselves on EDSA.  And then there are those traffic cops and enforcers that cluster together in places other than where they should be.

If a restraining order is to be filed against LTFRB/LTO, I am all for it.  They seem to be against alternative conveyances that help commuters:  Uber, Grab and UV Express.  STOP PROTECTING these buses, taxis and jeepneys that don't want to level up.  If they don't want to level up, they should stop clogging our streets!  PEACE!

Manny Pacquiao's Boxing School

The Hon. Cong. Manny Pacquiao is planning to set up a boxing school in China....

Just two points:

• If you want to help boxers, shouldn't you be helping FILIPINO boxers first? - Our amateur athletes don't receive enough support (including boxers), and you want to help a country that's already an athletic powerhouse, has thousands of years worth of tradition in martial arts and is encroaching on our territory to boot!  You don't owe them anything, but you do owe your countrymen something.
• Are you so naive to think that this school will ease tensions between R.P. and PROC?  Check your history please!  Appeasement doesn't work.  It didn't work on Hitler.  It won't work on China and your meddling will not help a bit.

JAYWALKING

Hihigpitan daw ang jaywalking. Ang tanong ko lang ay:

• May matatawiran ba ang mga tao na safe, well-lit, walang vendors at ligtas sa mga kriminal?
• Kung wala, nakahanda ba ang mga pulis at traffic enforcer na tulungang tumawid ang mga tao?

Puro tayo "huli" mentality. Why not make it easier for people to comply instead of punishing them more severely for infractions? Think proactive instead of reactive, hmmm?

OH YEAH...A LOT OF OUR LEADERS AREN'T USED TO THIS TYPE OF THINKING. Buti pa noong araw, ang pulis ay handang tumulong. Ngayon, nakahanda silang humuli. 

Contemplation

Thank you Lord for--
New friends that I've made
Friends who've made me a better person
Friends whose happiness I shared
Friends whose pain and sadness I've helped ease
Friends that I rarely see but care deeply for

And thank you Lord for rediscovering LOVE everyday!

NEW YEAR WISHES

Let's face 2012 with the following things in mind:

1. Prosperity doesn't come without hard work.
2. Don't depend on dumb luck to get you what you need.
3. Problems are opportunities in disguise.
4. Dreams remain dreams if you don't get up and start pursuing them.
5. You can't do it alone, so have a good support system.
6. Work may define you, but you decide what to eventually make of yourself.
7. Prayer definitely helps, but don't ask God to do everything for you.

DAILY LIVING

Daily living entails both increase and decrease.  We accumulate our knowledge, experiences and hopefully our wisdom.  It also entails a daily decrease.  We need to shed our old inhibitions, biases and bad habits.  Only thus can we grow into a true masterpiece.
